How the model works

What this TikTok Shop fee calculator includes

The first mode estimates the transaction economics before a sale. The second mode keeps the same assumptions, adds the reported settlement and optional statement lines, and shows whether the variance is explained by the values entered.

Expected settlementCustomer payment plus platform discount, less tax and the entered referral, affiliate and fulfillment costs.
Contribution profitExpected settlement after the entered COGS, advertising and other seller costs.
Variance to investigateThe difference between expected and reported settlement. It is not proof of reimbursement eligibility.

Before a sale, the same model also works as a TikTok Shop profit calculator by keeping expected platform settlement separate from contribution profit and margin.

When an actual amount differs, first reconcile the variance to your settlement report. Then review creator commission and clawback reconciliation or check for duplicate refund deductions when those transaction types appear. The TikTok Shop settlement audit and recovery service explains the broader review workflow.

Official US basis

Referral-fee rate and calculation basis

The official US category table, updated May 14, 2026, lists 6% for most displayed categories and 5% for specified jewelry and pre-owned categories, with additional exceptions for portions of some high-value sales. The calculator starts at 6% but leaves the rate editable. See the full TikTok Shop fees breakdown for US sellers for how each charge is applied.

Formula used by this tool

Referral fee = entered rate x (Customer Payment + Platform Discount – Tax)

The formula comes from TikTok Shop’s official US referral-fee update. Affiliate commission and fulfillment costs are modeled separately because they depend on the seller’s collaboration, logistics program and transaction records.

Illustrative example

From a $50 order to expected settlement

With a $50 item, quantity one, no discount or tax, a 6% entered referral rate and no affiliate or fulfillment cost, the model produces a $3 referral fee and a $47 expected settlement. Entering $20 COGS produces $27 contribution profit before any advertising or other seller cost. This example is illustrative, not a universal statement outcome.

Calculator limitations

  • Promotional plans, category exceptions and account-specific terms may change the applicable rate.
  • The model does not reproduce the full FBT rate card, storage schedule, refund administration fee or every settlement transaction type.
  • One payout can contain multiple statements, orders, reserve movements and later adjustments.
  • Use final statement records for settled values; an estimate or on-hold record can change.
  • TikTok determines reimbursement eligibility and payment.

FAQ

TikTok Shop fee calculator FAQ

What does the TikTok Shop fee calculator include?

It estimates the referral fee from the entered fee base and rate, then models affiliate commission, shipping or FBT cost, COGS, advertising and other seller costs. Actual fees and settlement treatment depend on the transaction, category, program, effective schedule and Seller Center records.

Are the default TikTok Shop fee rates exact for every US seller?

No. The 6% starting value reflects the official US category table where most listed categories show 6%, while specified categories show different rates. Promotional plans and account-specific terms can also differ. The rate is editable and should be checked against the current Seller Center schedule.

Does an unexplained variance mean TikTok owes a reimbursement?

No. A calculator variance is an exception to investigate, not proof of error or eligibility. Confirm the order and statement scope, timing, refunds, discounts, commissions, FBT charges, reserves, adjustments and bank match before preparing a case.

What is the difference between expected settlement and contribution profit?

Expected settlement models the amount remaining after the entered platform, affiliate and fulfillment deductions. Contribution profit then subtracts the entered COGS, advertising and other seller costs, which may not appear in a TikTok Shop settlement statement.

Can I use the calculator for Fulfilled by TikTok costs?

Yes. Enter the applicable FBT or fulfillment amount for the modeled order. The calculator does not reproduce the full FBT rate card, storage schedule or every account-specific adjustment, so verify the current charge in official documentation and the actual statement.

Does FBTops upload or store the values I enter?

No. The public calculator runs in your browser and does not require an account or upload. Do not enter Order IDs, buyer data, bank data, credentials or raw statements. Analytics events record calculator usage categories, not the financial values entered.
